GPU-accelerated CBC searches (collaboration of UWA and Caltech)

The UWA group, in collaboration with the Caltech LIGO group, has been developing graphics-processing-unit (GPU) acceleration for inspiral search pipelines. Significant speed-ups have been achieved.

Some of our development should be useful to the entire community. With help of Adam Mercer and Kipp Cannon, our LAL implementation of CUDA FFT is available in LAL, any interested ones can use it provided GPUs are available. The GPU-LAL implementation in chi-square tests for inspiral searches is currently available from the LAL GIT repository cuda_dev branch.
